Stream of consciousness time: I talk to a lot of owners who tell me, "I have a digital presence," because they have a website from 2019 and an Instagram they post on twice a month. I hate to be the one to say it, but that’s not a presence—that’s just a digital business card that’s fallen behind the desk.

The 5 W’s of Digital Reality:

  • Who: Every owner who feels like their website isn't "doing anything."

  • What: Digital Presence vs. Digital Reality.

  • Where: Your entire ecosystem—from Google reviews to your site's load speed.

  • When: 24/7/365.

  • Why: Because your website should be your best salesperson, not a static brochure.

Why this matters to me: I care about this because I see too many people waste money on "pretty" things that don't actually function. A real digital presence is about being the answer to a problem the moment someone types it into a search bar. It’s about projects that actually convert, not just pages that exist.

The Takeaway: Presence is passive. Reality is active. If your site isn't actively bringing you leads, we need to redefine what you're building.

Let’s Talk: When was the last time you looked at your business through a customer's eyes? Does your digital presence look like a thriving shop or a "closed" sign? Let’s chat in the comments.
