This is my Sunday stream of consciousness on why some of your best work is currently invisible. This week, a client asked why their latest blog post wasn't on Google search. I checked, and as it turns out, it wasn't even indexed.
The 5 W’s of Indexing:
Who: Anyone with a website that isn't showing up in search results.
What: Page Indexing—the VIP list for Google search.
Where: Your Search Console.
When: Every single time you want to be found.
Why: Because if Google doesn't index it, the page doesn't exist to the world. Period.
Why this matters to me: It’s frustrating to see someone spend hours on a masterpiece only for it to sit in a digital basement because of a technical glitch. I care about this because visibility is the first step to actually getting paid.
The Lesson: If your best info is trapped inside a massive, slow-loading graphic, search engines might just ignore it. Keep your "meat and potatoes" info in plain, readable text so the bots can actually find it.
Let’s Talk: Google can be temperamental. Give this a Like if you've ever struggled with search bots! How often do you check your indexing? I'm answering questions below.
